July 01, 2025
Singapore will
raise the upper age limit for first-time blood donors from 60 to 65 years old, Minister of Health Ong Ye Kung announced during a World Blood Donor Day event hosted by the Singapore Red Cross. The change will take effect Jan. 1.
According to the Health Sciences Authority, Singapore’s health regulator, the decision was based on data showing that the incidence of adverse donor reactions among first-time donors declines with age.
