AABB Releases New Relationship Testing Collection Training Module

November 05, 2025

AABB is pleased to reintroduce its Relationship Testing Collection Training Module, updated to reflect the changes to the 17th edition of AABB’s Standards for Relationship Testing Laboratories. The training module is a self-paced, online certificate course for individuals who would like to be recognized as AABB-trained relationship testing sample collectors.

Developed by subject-matter and quality expert Marsha Deitz, MBA, MT (ASCP), CQA (ASQ), AABB’s director of relationship testing and forensics, this program seeks to educate collectors on the requirements for the collection of samples. The course also aims to improve quality and to provide accredited facilities with resources for sample collection. The updated program includes new information on restrictions for immigration cases.

Those who successfully complete the program will earn a certificate of training from AABB and be included on the list of qualified collection suppliers updated quarterly for AABB-accredited relationship testing laboratories worldwide. The certificate is valid for the duration of the current edition of the AABB Standards for Relationship Testing Laboratories (valid through Dec. 31, 2027).

Interested individuals may register online. Those with questions may contact eLearning@aabb.org for additional information.
