AABB Seeks Feedback to Shape Updates to Latest MT, Perioperative Standards

AABB’s Molecular Testing Standards Committee and Perioperative Standards Committee are soliciting feedback to help guide updates to two upcoming draft editions of standards: the 8th edition of Standards for Molecular Testing for Red Cell, Platelet, and Neutrophil Antigens (MT Standards), and the 12th edition of Standards for Perioperative Autologous Blood Collection and Administration (Perioperative Standards).

The draft editions are based on the current 7th edition of MT Standards and the 11th edition of Perioperative Standards. Individuals who do not have access to the current editions may request two-week trial access to the Standards Portal by contacting standards@aabb.org.

The submission deadline is Jan. 6. Interested individuals may view submission instructions and provide feedback for the proposed 8th edition of MT Standards and 12th edition of Perioperative Standards on the AABB website.

The committees will meet shortly after the Jan. 6 deadline to review submissions. A 60-day comment period will begin in March following the release of the draft standards.
