On-Demand eCast Available to AABB Members During PBM Awareness Week

November 01, 2022

AABB is proud to support Patient Blood Management (PBM) Awareness Week, taking place Nov. 7-11. The Association is dedicated to increasing public and professional understanding of how PBM can improve patient outcomes.

PBM has become a particularly important tool to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in significant fluctuations in the supply and need for blood. To support this effort, AABB provides complimentary educational resources in its PBM Toolkit and promotes evidence-based best practices through the Standards for a Patient Blood Management Program.

Additionally, AABB is pleased to offer individual AABB members complimentary access to an AABB on-demand eCast that focuses on PBM strategies to mitigate the impact of low product inventories during times of blood product shortages. This program is available at no cost to AABB members* exclusively during PBM Awareness Week. Non-members may purchase access to the program in the AABB Store or join AABB for complimentary access.

The Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM) also released several PBM resources, including a downloadable PBM poster. AABB encourages members to visit the SABM Patient Blood Management Awareness Week web page for additional information and to share their PBM Awareness Week activities using the #PBMAW2022 hashtag.

*Applicable to the single viewer on-demand eCast; registration is required. Offer cannot be applied if program previously purchased.
