Christine Bales Awarded AATM’s Individual Excellence Award for 2022

Christine Bales, BS, MT, I(ASCP),CQA (ASQ), AABB’s vice president of consulting and global services, has been awarded an Individual Excellence Award for 2022 from the Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM).

AATM’s Excellence Awards are bestowed to individuals and institutions who have “contributed to the cause of transfusion medicine at a trans-national level, especially for Asian countries.”

AATM praised Bales’s devotion to the field and her influential work in advancing blood safety worldwide. Bales was lauded for continually “working for all around development of transfusion services across many countries.” In addition, the leaders of AATM noted that Bales has made a “special contribution in quality development and accreditation,” citing specifically her work in developing the AABB Quality Certificate and for her guidance to facilities working to achieve this certificate.

Bales will accept the award in person at AATM’s annual congress in December in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. AABB congratulates Christine on this distinguished honor.
