Next SLS Meeting to Focus on Blood Use During Emergencies

AABB invites Spanish-speaking members of the blood and biotherapies community to join the Spanish Language Subsection next Wednesday for a training focused on use of blood components following emergencies. The program will take place at 5 p.m. ET and will explore proper blood management after earthquakes, attacks with explosive vehicles, volcanic eruptions and cyberattacks, among others.

Jose Arnulfo Perez Carrillo, MD, PhD, MSc, specialist in clinical pathology and epidemiology, director of the Blood Bank of Clínica Colsanitas, and the subsection’s co-leader in transfusion medicine, will lead the training. The training is for transfusion medicine professionals in North, Central and South America, but all members of the Spanish Language Subsection are welcome to attend.
